A date for your diaries. 26th February 2016 7pm. This is the date of our next AGM. This will be held in the Venue at Namco Norwich. After the AGM the winners of each age division from the Norfolk Trials will be presented with their winners trophies.
Thank you to all those who entered the Norfolk Trials back in November. Due to the popularity of the trials once again we will be able to enter teams in all 10 divisions available to us. This is the second year running we have been able to do this, which is absolutely fantastic. Very few counties are able to do this.
The U24 divisions have now been changed to U25s from 2016 and the U15s and U18s divisions have now been changed from a five person event to a four person event.
Central Challenge
On Sunday 26th July 2015 we sent four teams of five to the Central Challenge Event at Martlesham Heath.
Norfolk A led by Simon Wooden started well and looked well placed to make a challenge for the lead before lunch. Norfolk Ninjas, led by Trevor Gibbs started slowly but had a cracking game of over 1100 just after lunch which propelled them into the lead with one game to go before getting pipped in the last game to lose out by 3 pins.
Norfolk's teams finished 2nd, 4th, 7th and 10th overall.
Elliott Crispe was Norfolk's highest average player with a 217 average and will now take part in the adult inter counties in September. Matt Giles 216, Robert Cater and Ben Green 209, Trevor Gibbs 206, John White 205 and Steph Tilson 205 were the other bowlers who averaged 200 plus for Norfolk.
Some notable good performances from some others too. Alex Pates 189 average and the top game of the day with a 265. Charlene McCabe averaged 165 and Jasmin Pates 157. Despite several bowlers not being available for the tournament, there is plenty of depth of bowlers in Norfolk at the moment and with several good young bowlers coming through the future does look very good.
Thanks to all those who bowled.
The Teams were:
NORFOLK A NORFOLK PENTAGON
Simon Wooden (captain) Duncan Edwards
Robert Cater Suzanne Benton
Karl Chown Mike Stephenson
Matthew Giles John White
Will Havelock Gary Fraser (captain)
NORFOLK NINJAS NORFOLK TRIFLE
Trevor Gibbs (captain) Abigail Cater
Billy Warnes Jasmin Pates
Alex Pates Charlene McCabe
Ben Green Angie Irwin
Elliott Crispe Stephanie Tilson (captain)
